Thanksgiving Wedding

Thanksgiving weekend is a popular time for weddings.  My own parents had a Thanksgiving weekend wedding almost 30 some-odd years ago.  Since most people have a four day weekend, it can be a convenient time to have a wedding.  One of the great things a Thanksgiving wedding has going for it is the fall theme that can be used.  That’s exactly what our topic is about today: Thanksgiving themed wedding.  Take a look:

Cranberries are a very “autumn” like food.  What comes to my mind immediately is “cranberry sauce.”  While they are certainly edible, those beautiful red cranberries can also be used for decorative purposes.

I love the idea of incorporating the color gold in the color scheme of a Thanksgiving wedding.  Oh yeah, and pies.  Lots of pies–apple, rhubarb, pumpkin.  Yum.

A Thanksgiving wedding (or wedding around Thanksgiving) is a great opportunity to have a fabulous table setting that exudes everything we love about the holidays: festive, warm, comfort, and love.  Orange and yellow candles surrounded by colorful leaves and gourds.  A simple fall leaf and a brown ribbon to decorate cloth napkins.  Simple, colorful, and everything we love to be reminded of when we break bread with the ones we love.  Perfect meaning for a wedding.

(1) Brown Bridesmaid Dresses.  Brown dresses for bridesmaids to use warm, fall themed colors.  Bouquets incorporating brown, green yellow, red, and orange. (2) Table setting above.  (3) Informal outdoor wedding.  I love the outdoor look decorated with fall-related items (gourds, browns, yellows, oranges, etc).  (4) Fall-themed table cards.  Let guests know where to sit with adorable leaf-adorned cards.  (5) Candy-covered apples for wedding favors.  The perfect fall treat to send guests home with…and tasty too!

Ideas for fall-themed weddings around Thanksgiving time: cranberries, gourds, corn, cornucopias, apples, bark, candles, orange, yellow, brown, gold, fireplace, barns, hay, twill.  Unlimited ideas!!
